Nigeria’s Edo Queens finished fourth at the CAF Women’s Champions League (Morocco 2024) after going down to Egyptian side, FC Masar 4-3 on penalties in the CAF Women’s Champions League third-place game in El Jadida on Friday.

Both teams, who are making their debut at the tournament, ended the third-place game on a goalless note in regulation time.

The highly tactical, yet entertaining encounter was replete with a number of goal scoring opportunities, but the teams were denied by quality goalkeeping and defending.

The podium finish is a sign of the great work being done by the academy side in Egypt who make history at the tournament that officially comes to a grande close on Saturday with a highly anticipated final between AS FAR and TP Mazembe.

Commenting on the team’s impressive run on debut, FC Masar coach, Admed Radadhan heaped praise on the courageous and fearlessness of his players against some of the best clubs in Africa.

The CAF Women’s Champions League draws to a close on Saturday with hosts AS FAR hoping to reclaim their title when they face the highly determined TP Mazembe in the final.
