Chidimma Adetshina celebrates 24th birthday

Chidimma experienced triumph and resilience in 2024 after she received backlash and withdrew from Miss South Africa. She then switched gears and represented Taraba State in Miss Universe Nigeria, eventually earning the title.

This success drove her to the global stage at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico City where she reached an incredible feat and finished as first runner-up.

In 2024 Chidimma was also a Miss South Africa pageant finalist, and attracted attention and criticism over her Nigerian roots. This dispute triggered a discussion on xenophobia and national identity in South Africa.
