South Africa men’s national team clawed their way back into Africa’s Top 10 as FIFA released its latest ranking on Thursday.
The Bafana Bafana climbed three places in the FIFA rankings to gain their highest position since February 2015, thus, they are now 57th in the world rankings and 10th in Africa.
The Bafana Bafana picked up two crucial wins during the recent international break, beating Uganda 2-0 in Kampala before crushing South Sudan 3-0 at Cape Town Stadium.
On the global stage, South Africa climbed three positions to 57th globally, a reflection of their recent resurgence during the AFCON qualifying campaign.
This improvement comes as a welcome boost for South African football, which has faced challenges in recent years.
